Our office is based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and we’ve been operating from here for quite a while now. We do consultancy work, which mostly means a lot of meetings, phone calls, and looking at documents on a screen. It is not a very flashy job, but it keeps us busy from morning until evening. The office is simple—just some desks, chairs, and a lot of filing cabinets that are probably too full of old papers. We don’t really go for the corporate look at all. Most days we are just in casual clothes, drinking coffee and trying to solve whatever problem came in that morning. Ahmedabad gets really hot, so the AC is usually running full blast, making a bit of a rattle. We work with different people on various projects, and every day feels a little different depending on who calls us up. We don’t have a big mission statement on the wall or anything like that. We just come in, do the work that needs doing, and try to stay organized. Sometimes we stay late when a project is due, ordering food from the place down the street because nobody wants to cook. It’s a small team, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from answering the door to writing up long reports. It is just a practical, local business trying to help other people out with their plans and ideas without making a big deal about it or acting like we are important.
