Annapurna Home Food

Annapurna Home Food is a bit different because we aren't on the ground floor with a big sign. We are up on the 6th floor of Takshshila Apartment, right in Vastrapur. It’s across from the Nalanda Complex and near the Vishweshwar Mahadev temple. Working from an apartment means things are a lot more personal. The kitchen is the heart of everything we do here. You won't find a commercial dining room, just the smell of home cooking drifting through the hallway. We spend most of our mornings chopping vegetables and getting the stoves going. It’s a lot of work to manage from the 6th floor, especially when we have to carry supplies up and down, but we make it work. Vastrapur is a busy area, but once you get up to the apartment, it’s a bit quieter. You can see the rooftops and the tops of the trees from the balcony. We don't have a staff of dozens or fancy uniforms. It’s just us in the kitchen making sure the food tastes like something you’d eat at your own table. Our customers usually know us by word of mouth or they live nearby and want something that isn't from a restaurant. It’s a steady pace of cooking, packing, and making sure the deliveries get out on time. It feels more like a home than a business most days, which is exactly how it started. It is just real food for regular people.
