Akshar Travels

We’ve been here at the Saloni Complex for a while now. If you know where the Gun House is in Khanpur, you’ve probably walked right past us without even looking up at the second floor. It’s a busy part of Ahmedabad and there is always some noise from the street coming through the windows. Our office is not very fancy or anything like that. We just have some desks and computers where we try to figure out bus timings and flight routes for people who stop by. Sometimes the lift works and sometimes it is better to just take the stairs if you are in a hurry. We spend most of our mornings drinking tea and looking at schedules on the screen. It is a lot of phone calls and writing things down on paper. People come in asking about going to different places and we just do what we can to help them find a seat. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons but we keep the fans going. It is just a regular place where we work every day. There are some old files piled up in the corner and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint. We don’t really do big advertisements or anything. Most people who come here live nearby or heard about us from a neighbor. It is just how things go in this part of town. We keep it simple and just focus on getting the bookings right.
