This particular Airtel spot is down at 1133/2 in Tadni Sheri, right in the heart of Jamalpur. If you haven't been to this part of Ahmedabad, the streets are quite narrow and the buildings are all packed in close together. It’s a very traditional neighborhood and things move at a different pace here. We aren't one of those big, shiny showrooms you see in the malls. We are just a small local outlet tucked into a "sheri" where people from the nearby houses can come in when they have a problem with their phone or need to sort out their connection. It gets very busy in the evenings when everyone is out doing their shopping and walking through the lanes. We spend a lot of our time explaining data plans or helping someone get their SIM card working again. The space is small, so it often feels a bit crowded, but we like the fact that we know almost everyone who walks through the door. There is always noise coming from the street—scooters buzzing by and neighbors chatting—but that’s just the atmosphere of Jamalpur. We don't use a lot of complicated talk here; we just try to help people get their service back up and running so they can go about their day. It’s a humble little shop but it stays busy because the community around here is so tight-knit and active. We usually have a few stools for people to sit on while they wait.
