Air Deccan

We are based right at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport here in Ahmedabad. Specifically, our HR office is located in the Arrival Terminal area. It is a very unique place to work because you are always surrounded by the hustle and bustle of people traveling. You hear the announcements over the speakers all day long and you can see the planes coming in. Our office is tucked away in the Air Can section. It is mostly a place for administrative work and handling all the stuff that comes with running an airline operation. It is not like a regular office building where things are quiet. Here, there is always something happening. We spend our time going through applications, talking to staff, and making sure the paperwork for the airport authorities is all in order. It is a lot of back-and-forth communication. Sometimes the terminal gets incredibly crowded, especially during the peak flight times, and it can be a bit of a challenge just to walk to the cafeteria. We don't have a lot of space for ourselves, but we make it work. Working at an airport means you have to follow a lot of rules and security protocols every day. It becomes a habit after a while. We are just a small part of the bigger operation here, focusing on the people who make everything fly. It’s a busy life but it is interesting being at the center of the action.
