Ahura Restaurant Pvt. Ltd. is tucked away in the Shrikunj Flat, right opposite the Samrpan Tower in Ghatlodia. If you know Ahmedabad, you know this part of town gets quite crowded during the evening. Our unit is number 5/118. We started this because we liked food and wanted to have a place of our own in the neighborhood. It is not a huge place with a lot of decorations. Most of the space is taken up by the kitchen because that is where the real work happens. We spend our mornings getting vegetables from the market and making sure the stove is working right. The staff is mostly local guys who have been with us since we opened. We don't have a mission statement or anything fancy like that. We just want to make sure the plates are clean and the food is hot when it reaches the table. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard for delivery bikes to move, but we do our best to keep things moving. The Samrpan Tower is a good landmark, so most people find us without much trouble. We have some regulars who come in every single day for their lunch. We know their names and what they like to eat without them having to say it. It feels more like a community spot than a big business. We just keep our heads down and do the work day after day. It is just life.
