We are set up on Fatehabad Road in Agra. If you know where the ITC Mughal is, Thaaliwala is right beside it, so it's not hard to find. It’s a busy part of town because of all the people coming to see the Taj Mahal, but we also get plenty of local families who live nearby. As the name suggests, we mostly do thalis here. It’s a lot of small bowls and a whole lot of washing up for the staff afterwards. The kitchen team is usually busy filling up those bowls with whatever we’ve cooked for the day. We don't have a fancy mission statement or a big philosophy. We just open the doors, cook the vegetables and lentils, and wait for people to come in. The road outside is always full of rickshaws, cars, and tourists, especially in the late afternoons. It can get a bit hectic inside when every single table is full, but we do our best to keep up with the pace. The staff mostly lives in the surrounding neighborhoods of Agra, so we’re all locals here. We like being next to a big landmark like the ITC Mughal because it makes us very easy to find for anyone new to the area. It’s not a complicated business we are running. We just make the food we like and hope the customers enjoy their meal. We’ve been here for a while now and just take things day by day.
