Chulah Moradabadi

We have Shops 11, 12, and 13 in Block 34/2 at Sanjay Place in Agra. If you know Agra, you know Sanjay Place is where a lot of the business happens. We are right opposite the big LIC building. It’s a huge landmark, so nobody ever gets lost looking for us. Having three shops side by side gives us a bit more room, but it still feels small when it’s busy. I’m usually running between the counters making sure things are moving along. The area is full of office workers and people doing their banking or insurance stuff at the LIC. Lunchtime is the craziest part of the day. The noise from the street is constant, with horns and people shouting. We don’t have a fancy interior designer’s touch here. It’s just tables and chairs and the smell of the chulah going. We focus on getting the food out hot. It’s hard work being on your feet all day, but we’re used to it. Sometimes the rain floods the street a little bit, and we just have to deal with it. People around here are friendly and we know most of the other shop owners. It’s a community. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in Agra. We just want to keep our corner of Sanjay Place running and serve whoever walks in through the door. It is a busy life but we enjoy the work.
