Harrison Printers

1/228, Pm Rd. is where you can find us most days. Harrison Printers isn't a very large operation, but we’ve got enough machines to keep the noise going from morning until evening. The shop is right on Pm Rd, so there is always a bit of dust and the sound of cars passing by. We spend a lot of time moving stacks of paper from one side of the room to the other. There’s always that specific smell of ink and cleaning fluid in the air, which you just get used to after a week or so. It’s a bit of a mess sometimes with all the offcuts and the boxes piled up near the back door. Most of our work comes from people nearby who need something printed quickly, and we just do our best to get it through the rollers without any jams. The machines are a bit older, so they need a lot of looking after and oiling. We don't really have a front desk, just a counter where people leave their files. My hands are usually stained with something by lunchtime. It’s hard work and it gets quite warm in here during the afternoons when all the motors are running. We just keep our heads down and get the pages out. It’s been this way for years and we don’t see much reason to change how we do things.
