If you head down to Plot No. 282/1/b in the Gidc Estate, that’s where you’ll find us. We’re a food company, so the first thing you usually notice when you walk in is whatever smell is coming from the production line that day. It’s a lot of white coats, hairnets, and making sure everything is as clean as it can be. We spend a lot of our time dealing with raw ingredients and turning them into something people can actually eat. The machines can be noisy, and there’s always a hum in the background from the cooling systems. We have a loading dock where the tempos and trucks pull in to pick up boxes. It gets pretty hectic around noon when everyone is trying to get their orders out before the drivers lose patience. Our office is just a small room off to the side with a couple of desks and a lot of logbooks. We have to keep track of everything that comes in and goes out. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we’ve become a bit of a work family over the years. We eat lunch together and complain about the heat in the warehouse during the summer months. It’s a basic operation, no bells or whistles, just people working hard to get food packaged and moved along. We focus on the daily tasks and try to make sure we don’t run out of packing tape at the wrong time.
