Virudharasi Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our small group is located at 1/114 Middle Street in Pisindi. That is over in the Kariyapatti Taluk area. We are all just local farmers who have lived in this village for generations. The office is right there on the main street, which isn't very big anyway. We formed this company, Virudharasi, to help us manage our crops better together. It’s mostly dry land around here, so we have to be careful with what we grow and how we use our resources. It is not an easy job, and there are many days when we just sit around the office worrying about the lack of rain. We aren't fancy business people with suits. Most of the time, we are covered in dirt from the fields. We handle a variety of local crops depending on what the season allows. The building we use is just a plain room with some desks and a lot of registers. We try to keep our accounts straight, though sometimes it takes us a while to get through the paperwork. People from the nearby villages often stop by to chat or see what we are up to. We don't have a grand vision or anything like that. We just want to make a living and keep our farms going for another year. It’s hard work, but it’s our life and we are used to the rhythm of it.
