Our group is called Vinoba Bhave Rainfed Cotton And Allied Crops Producer Company Limited. We are located at 1/15/2 on South Street in Pannaimoondradaippu. That is in the Tiruchuli area of Virudhunagar. Cotton is the big thing for us, especially the rainfed kind since that is what the land here supports. We decided to put our resources together because doing it alone was just getting too difficult for a lot of families. The office is a quiet place on South Street where we keep our records and meet with the farmers. It is not a fancy setup, just some chairs and tables and plenty of talk about the crops. We deal with cotton mostly, but also other crops that grow well in this soil. Living in Virudhunagar, you get used to the dry heat and waiting for the rain. That is why we focus so much on the rainfed side of things. It is about making sure we can all get through the tough seasons. We don't spend money on advertising or big signs. Most people hear about us from their neighbors. It is a very local thing. We are just regular people who know a lot about cotton and want to see our community do okay.
