Seethakamangalam Farmer Producer Companylimited

We are based out of 55 Sivan Kovil Street in Vikkirapandiyam. It is a quiet area mostly. The temple is close by and that’s where everyone gathers. We are just a group of farmers from around Seethakamangalam who decided to join up. Farming by yourself is getting harder these days with the costs of everything going up. We share our ideas and sometimes our equipment too. It is just more practical that way. Our office doesn't look like much, just a door on the street where we keep our books. We spend our days out in the dirt. Vikkirapandiyam has good soil if you know how to treat it. We grow what the season tells us to. Sometimes it’s paddy, sometimes other things. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us. We talk to each other across the fences and then meet at the office to settle the accounts. Life moves at a different pace here. You can’t force the rain to come. You just wait and hope for the best. We’ve seen good years and lean years. That’s just part of the job. We are proud of what we grow even if it’s just small-scale stuff. Most of us have lived here our whole lives. We know the land and we know each other. That’s enough for us. We just want to keep the village farming alive for the next ones coming up after us. It's not about being famous, just about doing the work.
