Eluvan Fed Farmer Producer Company Limited is a group of us who farm around Viluppuram. It’s a rural spot and we like it that way. Most days are spent dealing with the soil and the crops. The office is just a place to meet and talk about the business side of things, which none of us really like as much as being outside. We have to deal with the heat every day, and sometimes the crops don’t do what they are supposed to. It’s an honest way to make a living, even if it’s exhausting. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to help each other get by. We share tools and advice when someone is having a hard time. The street is usually quiet, except when there’s a festival at the temple. We’ve all grown up around here, so we know the land pretty well. It’s not a fancy operation with computers and big displays. We mostly just use notebooks and our own memories. It’s just a bunch of local people trying to keep the farming tradition alive in our village without making things too complicated. We just take it one season at a time and hope for the best.
