Monks Kitchen

Our place is on Citizen School Main Road in the Auto Nagar area of Vijayawada. Specifically, we are at Door No 54-20-15. It is a busy little corner right opposite the Cafe Coffee Day in Gurunanak Colony. You can see the school kids walking by all the time since the school is right there. It is not a very quiet street, especially during the day when the nearby auto shops are all open. We started this kitchen because we wanted a spot in this part of town. The space isn't huge, but we make it work. Every morning starts with the same routine of getting the stoves going and prepping the vegetables for the day. We don't have any fancy chefs in white hats, just people who know how to cook regular food for the neighborhood. Sometimes we run out of certain things if the day is busier than we expected. It happens in this business. The furniture is simple and we don't spend much time on decorations. Most people who come in are regulars from the nearby offices or parents waiting for their kids to finish school. We just keep the doors open and do our best to serve everyone who walks in. The afternoon sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard, so it can get warm inside. We just keep the fans running. It is a basic setup, nothing more, nothing less.
