Ss International School

SS International School is based in Vellore, a city that is known for being quite hot for most of the year. Even though the name has "International" in it, we are very much a local school serving the families living in this part of Tamil Nadu. Our building is designed to handle the heat, with thick walls and fans in every room, though it still gets quite warm in the afternoons. The school day starts early to beat the worst of the sun. We have a fleet of yellow vans that go around the different parts of Vellore to pick up the kids and bring them to the gate. The campus is a mix of older and newer sections, depending on when different parts were added on. We have a small playground where the kids get a bit of exercise, though they usually prefer to stay in the shade when they can. The teachers here focus on the standard subjects like math, science, and languages. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate values posted on the walls; we just want the kids to learn their lessons so they can do well later in life. It is a busy environment with a lot of chatter in the hallways between classes. We try to keep things organized, but with hundreds of children running around, it is always a bit chaotic, which is just how a school should be. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep the parents happy.
