Adithya Vidyashram Matriculation High School

Living in Vellore usually means dealing with a fair bit of heat, and out on Golden Temple Road, it is no different. Adithya Vidyashram Matriculation High School is situated right there in Ussoor, and we’ve become a bit of a landmark for the people living nearby. The address is 632105, but most people just know us as the school on the way to the temple. It’s a busy road, especially during the festival times, but once you step inside the school grounds, it gets a lot quieter. We aren't a massive institution with glass walls and air conditioning in every corner. We are just a local school where the teachers know the names of the parents and we all try to make things work with what we have. The building has seen many batches of kids come and go, and you can tell by the way the floors are worn down in the middle of the hallways. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to open all the windows wide to catch a breeze, but that’s just how it goes in Ussoor. We don't have any fancy marketing people telling us what to say, so I’m just writing this to let people know we are still here, doing the same thing we’ve done for years. It’s a practical place for learning, nothing more and nothing less. We keep the gates open and just do our best.
