Kilmuttukur Arunachala School

If you come down to Kilmuttukur, you will find our school tucked away in this quiet part of Vellore. Kilmuttukur Arunachala School has been sitting here for a good long time now. It’s not a big city school with lots of traffic around it. Instead, we have the local atmosphere and the sounds of the village. Most of our students walk here from the nearby houses, and you can see them coming in small groups every morning. The weather in Vellore gets quite hot, especially in the afternoons, so we try to keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze there is. It’s a basic setup, really. We have the benches, the boards, and plenty of space for the kids to run around during their lunch hour. Everyone around here knows the school. It’s just part of the landscape in this corner of the 632204 area. We don’t do things in a complicated way. We just show up, open the doors, and get to the teaching. Some days are more chaotic than others, especially when the rains come and everything gets a bit muddy outside. But we just clean it up and keep going. We like it here because it feels like home to most of us. The parents stop by to talk sometimes, and it’s all very casual. We aren't trying to be anything other than a local school for the families who live around Kilmuttukur. It is a long day for everyone but we manage just fine.
