Ujjwal Carpets

You can find Ujjwal Carpets over on Hariyawn Gyanpur Road. We use P.O. Box 174 for our letters. It’s a busy enough road, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to work. Our building isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep the materials and do the weaving. We started out small and stayed that way mostly. There is a lot of dust involved in making carpets, so we are always sweeping the floors. My brother helps with the books when he isn't busy with other things. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the piles of wool get ahead of us. It’s a lot of manual labor. Your hands get tough after a few years of doing this every day. We don’t have a website or anything fancy like that. Most people just stop by or call us if they need something. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoon, so we usually move the work to the back where it is cooler. It’s just a regular local business. We don’t make grand promises. We just take the orders and try to get them finished by the time we said we would. Sometimes we’re late if the weather is bad or if someone gets sick, but we always finish. It's just us doing our thing every day, making sure the work is solid before it leaves our hands.
