Khan Carpets Export House

Our place, Khan Carpets Export House, is mostly known through our post box, which is P.O. Box No. 16. We’ve been using that same box for a long time to keep everything organized. Exporting carpets involves a lot of back and forth with shipping and letters, so the post office feels like a second home to us sometimes. Our actual workspace is filled with rugs and the smell of wool. It’s not a showroom where everything is shiny and perfect. It’s a working house where we check every piece before it goes out. Sometimes the piles get so high you can’t see the person on the other side of the room. We spend a lot of time talking to weavers and making sure the colors look right under the light. It’s a lot of manual work, moving heavy rolls around and packing them up tight for the long journey ahead. We don't have a fancy reception area or people in suits. Usually, it's just us in comfortable clothes because of the dust from the fibers. We use the P.O. box because it’s reliable for all the international documents we get. It's a bit of an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it has worked for us through the years. We just keep our heads down and focus on getting the carpets ready. Each day is about checking schedules and making sure the trucks arrive on time to pick up the orders.
