Ashish Rugs International

Ashish Rugs International is located in the Chauri Road Bazar area, specifically in Sardar Khan. If you know the bazar, you know how hectic it can be. There’s always someone shouting or a cart moving past. We work out of a space that is filled with the smell of wool and rugs. It’s a very traditional kind of setting. We spend a lot of time checking the weaves and making sure the piles of rugs are stacked properly. It can be quite heavy work, moving those big carpets around all day. We’ve been doing this for a while, so we don't think much about the noise or the dust anymore. It’s just part of the job in the bazar. We don’t have a fancy website or a bunch of people in suits. It’s just us in our regular clothes, dealing with the daily tasks. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit when it's not too crowded just to catch some air. The building is old, and the floors are a bit uneven, but it has served us well over the years. We deal with people from all over, but we still feel like a local shop. There’s always something to do, whether it’s sorting through new arrivals or packing things up for transport. We just take it one day at a time here in Sardar Khan and keep things moving.
