Tahir Carpets

We are over at C-19/44 in the Vidhyapeeth area. It is a place filled with carpets of all different types. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is the smell of wool and maybe some tea brewing in the back. We have piles and piles of carpets stacked up high. Sometimes it’s hard to walk through the narrow paths between them. We’ve been here for a while and the building is a bit old, but it stays cool enough in the summer. We spend our time showing people the different weaves and explaining where they came from. It is a lot of physical labor, unrolling a big carpet just for someone to see the middle of it, then rolling it back up again. My back feels it at the end of the day. We don't have a website or any of that stuff, we just rely on people walking in or calling us up. It is a straightforward business. We buy carpets, we keep them here, and we hope someone likes them enough to take them home. The neighborhood is okay, and we know the other shopkeepers around here. It is just a regular life. We open the shutters in the morning and wait to see who comes by. It’s not fancy, but it is what we do. There are always new stacks arriving and old ones leaving, so the room always looks a little bit different every week.
