Rug International Industries

Rug International Industries is over in Bazar Salabat Khan, and we’ve been here for quite a while now. It’s a busy spot and we just use the P.O. Box 129 for our mail because the local delivery can be a bit hit or miss. The shop isn't much to look at, just a lot of rugs stacked up high against the walls. We spend most of our mornings moving things around to make space for new stock. It gets pretty dusty with all the wool and materials, so someone is always sweeping the floor. My cousin handles the books while I talk to the people who come by. We don't have a big sign out front, just a small one that’s a bit faded. The bazar is loud, especially on market days, but you get used to the noise after a few years. We usually get tea from the guy at the corner twice a day. It’s a simple setup and we don't try to make it look like something it's not. Most of our day is spent checking the weaves and making sure nothing is damaged. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when it rains hard, so we have to move the rugs quickly. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s a regular life here in the bazar and we know most of the other shopkeepers by name. It’s not fancy, but it works for us.
