Rajput Carpets

Down in Village-Patehara, you will find us at Rajput Carpets. We get our mail through the Khamaria post office. This part of the region has always been about making things with your hands, and we are just a part of that. We have a couple of sheds where the work happens. It is not very modern, just some sturdy walls and the frames we need for the weaving. Most of the folks working here have been doing this since they were young. We do not use much fancy technology. Sometimes the tea breaks last a bit longer than they should, but the work always gets finished eventually. We are not trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the stuff we send out from Village-Patehara is solid. The roads here can get muddy during the rains, so we have to plan ahead for when the materials arrive. It is a lot of sitting and focusing on the patterns. We do not really have a front desk or a receptionist. If you show up, one of us will just come out from the back to see what you need. It is a busy place but in a quiet sort of way. We have been here for a long time and we plan to stay right here in the village. We just keep doing what we know how to do every day without making any big fuss.
