Pratap Central School

Pratap Central School sits right on Ghazipur Road in the Parao area of Varanasi. If you’ve ever driven past, you’ve probably seen the gate and the kids hanging around when the buses show up. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always noise from the traffic outside, but inside the walls, we try to keep it focused. The building has been here for years, and it shows its age in some spots, but it serves the purpose. We have teachers who have been with us since the start and some newer ones who are still figuring out how to handle forty energetic kids at once. It’s not a quiet place. Between the classes switching and the physical education drills in the yard, there is always something happening. We don't spend much time on fancy brochures or polished websites. Most of our work is just checking notebooks and making sure the classrooms have enough chairs. Parents stop by the office often to chat about their kids’ progress or to settle fees. We know the shopkeepers nearby and the rickshaw drivers who bring the students. It’s just how things work here. Varanasi is a crowded place, and we are just one part of the community trying to help the local families get their children through their exams without too much trouble.
