Holy Hearts School

We have been here in Pishach Mochan for a while now. Most people around Maldahiya know where we are, tucked away in Varanasi. It’s a busy spot, especially in the mornings when the cycle rickshaws are everywhere and the kids are arriving. The school building isn't fancy, just a regular place where we try to get things done. It gets quite hot in the summer, so we keep the fans going and try to stay cool in the classrooms. We’ve got different ages here, from little ones to the older students. You’ll usually hear a lot of noise coming from the playground area during the lunch break. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard to hear, but we’re used to it by now. It’s just how it is in this part of town. The teachers show up every day, drink their tea in the break room, and then get back to the books. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. It’s just a school where children come to learn their subjects and hang out with their friends. We see the same faces every day, and some of the parents were students here themselves a long time ago. It feels like a small community inside these walls. We spend a lot of time organizing notebooks and making sure the classrooms are ready. It’s a lot of work running a place like this in Varanasi, but we just take it day by day and keep moving forward.
