Pragya Public School

Pragya Public School is located out near the Babatpur Airport in the Baragaon area of Varanasi. Because we are so close to the airport, you can often hear the planes taking off while you are in the middle of a lesson. It is something the students and teachers have just gotten used to over time. The school is in a bit of a quieter, more rural setting compared to the main city of Varanasi. There is more open space around us, which is nice for the kids. The building itself is simple and functional, with several classrooms arranged around a central area. Most of the students come from the nearby villages in Baragaon, either walking or coming on their cycles. We don't have any big fancy facilities, just the basic stuff you need for a school to run. The desks are wooden, and the walls have some charts and drawings made by the kids. During the winter, it gets quite chilly, so everyone comes bundled up in their sweaters. The staff room is a small, cramped place where the teachers sit together during their free periods. We don't really do any big marketing; word of mouth in the village is how most people find out about us. It is a modest place where we focus on the daily lessons and making sure the children are learning their alphabet and numbers properly while growing up in their own community.
