Wh Smith Memorial School

Our school, Wh Smith Memorial, is located at B- 22/162 A- 1- K. A.- 1 in Shankul Dhara. It’s a mouthful of an address, but locals just know it as the school in the neighborhood. Every morning starts with the sound of kids arriving and the general chaos of the first bell. We’ve been here for quite some time now, watching students grow up and move on. The building has its quirks, like that one door that always squeaks or the way the sun hits the classrooms in the afternoon. We have desks that have seen many years of use. It’s not a quiet place, obviously, but that’s what you expect with a school. We spend our days following the schedule, moving from one lesson to the next. The hallways get crowded during breaks. Shankul Dhara is a lively area, and we’re right in the middle of it. We have a small playground area where the kids run around during recess. It can get pretty loud then. The staff room is usually full of papers and half-finished cups of tea. We try to keep the place looking decent, though the walls could use a fresh coat of paint here and there. It feels like a community here more than anything else. Parents stop by the gate to talk after they drop their children off. It’s just how our days go, year after year, teaching and looking after the kids. We hope they learn something useful before they leave us for bigger schools.
