K. W. Carpets Company

Our place is right on the Bypass Main Road in Jamunipur. If you’re driving through, you can’t really miss the sign for K. W. Carpets Company. It’s a busy road, so there’s always the sound of horns and trucks passing by while we’re working inside. We spend most of our time dealing with heaps of wool and finished rugs stacked up against the walls. It gets a bit dusty in the showroom, but that’s part of the business when you’re handling these kinds of materials all day. We have people coming in from the nearby villages to help with the weaving and the washing of the carpets. It’s a lot of manual labor and staring at patterns until your eyes get tired. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit around and wait for the generator to kick in so we can see what we’re doing. We don’t have those high-end displays you see in the city malls. It’s just a warehouse-style setup where we keep the stock and talk to the folks who stop by. We try to keep the inventory organized, but honestly, things get a bit messy when a big shipment comes in or when we’re trying to sort through the different sizes. It’s just how we run things here on the bypass. We focus on the rugs and making sure they’re ready for whoever needs them next. There is always a lot to do before we close up each evening.
