Ansari Rug Bazar

We've been doing this rug thing here in Qazipur for a while now. It's mostly just piles of wool and the sound of looms going all day long. Sometimes the dust gets a bit much, but that's just how it is when you’re working with fibers. My father started it, and now I’m the one looking after things. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It’s just the workshop where the weavers sit and do their work. Usually, we are busy with orders that come from people who know us or found our address through someone else. There isn't much to see if you come by except for the rugs rolled up against the walls. It takes a long time to finish even one small piece, so the pace is slow here. We don't use big machines for the knots; it's all done by hand, which means mistakes happen sometimes, but we fix them as we go. The weather in Qazipur affects the drying of the dyed wool, so some months are busier than others. We don't really do much advertising. People just find us. It’s a simple life, mostly just checking the quality of the wool and making sure the patterns look right. If you’re looking for a shiny showroom, this isn't the place.
