Aamina Handloom

We’ve been set up here in Noorkhanpur for quite some time now, just tucked away near the MA Trading Company. It’s a busy spot but we like it. The handloom work keeps us on our toes every single day. Most mornings start early before the sun gets too hot, getting the threads ready and checking the looms. It is a bit loud sometimes with all the clacking going on, but you get used to it after a week or two. People around Noorkhanpur know where we are because of the big trading company nearby, which helps since our lane is a bit narrow. We don't really do anything fancy here, just honest work with fabrics. Sometimes the shipments are late or the weather makes the yarn behave weird, but that’s just how it goes in this business. My cousin helps out with the heavy lifting and we mostly just focus on getting things done for the people who stop by. The shop isn't very large, but it's enough for what we need. We’ve got stacks of material in the back that probably need better sorting, honestly. Sometimes a customer comes in looking for something specific and it takes us a minute to dig it out. It’s just us here, working the machines and making sure the fabric looks right before it leaves the door. It’s a simple life in Noorkhanpur, and we are just glad to have a roof over our heads and work to do.
