Triveni General Store

Out in Asoj, at Tingre Nagar 1126, you’ll find Triveni General Store. We are right there in the middle of Datnagar and Ambica Nagar, so we get people coming in from all those little pockets. It’s a typical general store, packed with just about everything someone might need in a hurry. The shelves are a bit crowded because we try to fit as much as possible into the space we have. You’ll find soap right next to lentils, and maybe some notebooks stacked on a bottom shelf somewhere. We don't have fancy lighting or those automatic doors you see in the big cities. It’s just a regular door that stays open most of the day to let a breeze in. Living and working in Asoj means we know everyone’s business and they know ours. It’s a community thing. Sometimes a neighbor will come in just to talk for half an hour without actually buying anything, and that’s fine with us. We spend a lot of time checking dates on packages and writing down what we need to order for next week. The floor is old tile and it creaks a bit near the front counter where the weight of the fridge sits. It’s a long day, from early morning until the sun goes down, but it’s a steady life. We like being the place where people stop for their daily milk or a pack of matches before they head home.
