Surati Sweets And Snacks Pvt. Ltd. is located out in Village Dhobi Kuva. We are right on the Padra Jabmu Sur Road, which is in Taluka Padra. Being in a village means things move a little slower than they do in the town, but the road out front is actually quite busy with people traveling between places. We have a pretty large space here because we need it for all the cooking and packing. The kitchen area is always the hottest part of the building, especially in the summer months. You can usually smell what we are making from the road, which I guess is why people stop their cars. We don't have a big storefront; it's more of a production place. A few of us live nearby, so it’s a short walk to work. The building itself is plain, just some concrete and a tin roof in parts. We spend a lot of time cleaning because when you work with sweets and snacks, everything gets sticky pretty fast. It’s a lot of manual work, stirring big pots and packing boxes by hand. We’ve had to fix the plumbing a few times this year, but that’s just part of having an old building in a village. We aren’t a big corporate office or anything. We are just local people making food in Dhobi Kuva. It’s a decent way to spend the day, and we keep things pretty basic.
