Nisi Chocolates

You can find our small kitchen and shop on Dutt Mandir Road, right by the Channi Jakat Naka in Malad East. It is a place that almost always smells like melted chocolate and sugar. We spend a lot of our time standing over stoves or working at the marble tables to get the chocolate just right. It is a sticky and messy job, especially when the humidity is high. My apron is never clean for more than five minutes, and there are always bits of silver foil stuck to the floor. We do not use big industrial machines for our work. Most of what we make is done by hand in small batches. This means we are always busy stirring, dipping, and wrapping. We are just a local bunch of people who like making sweets. It is hard work on your feet all day, and the kitchen gets very warm. We do not have a big advertising budget or anything like that. People mostly find us by the smell or by word of mouth in the neighborhood. We take our time with each batch because we want it to be right. It is a simple business, and we have been in Malad East for a long time. The people here are good to us. We just keep our heads down and keep making chocolate every day.
