Suleshwari Sweet Mart

Suleshwari Sweet Mart is tucked away on Wadi Anjaney Temple street, specifically near the 7th A Cross. Being near a temple means we see a lot of people coming and going for prayers. We have a glass display case where we put out the sweets we made that day. There are different colors and shapes, mostly made from milk or gram flour. We spend a lot of time stirring big pots of milk until it thickens. It is a slow process and you can't really rush it. The shop is small and can get a bit crowded when more than three people are inside. We have a ceiling fan that wobbles a little bit but it keeps the air moving. The floor is granite and we try to keep it mopped because sugar can make it sticky. We use small cardboard boxes for the larger orders and paper bags for the smaller ones. Sometimes the bells from the temple across the street ring while we are working. It is a nice atmosphere. We don't really do any fancy decorations. Most of our regulars live just a few houses away and they come in for a bit of something sweet after their meals. We know many of them by name. We stay open until the last temple service is over. It is a steady routine that we have followed for years without much change.
