Suhana Provision Stores

Suhana Provision Stores is located on Dr M D Road in the Tahib Nagar area of Vadodara. It has been sitting here for a long time now, and not much has changed over the years. We start the day by moving the milk crates and getting the bread delivery sorted out before the sun gets too hot. The shop is filled with rows of jars and packets containing everything from spices to soap. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we try to keep a lot of stock in a small space. The ceiling is low and the walls could use a bit of paint, but we are usually too busy to get around to it. Most of our customers are families from the nearby streets who have been coming to us for years. We know their names and what they usually like to buy. During the afternoons when it gets quiet, we sit by the counter and listen to the bikes going past on the road. There is an old wooden counter where we keep some jars of loose biscuits and candies for the local kids. We don't use a computer for our accounts; we just write everything down in a big ledger book. It’s a lot of work to keep track of it all, but it is how we have always done it. We just keep things moving and try to have what people need.
