If you walk down Bajwada Main Road, you’ll probably see our sign for Silver Touch. We are on the first floor of the building called Silver Touch House, which I guess makes it easy to remember. The stairs are a bit narrow, so we tell people to watch their step. Up here, it’s a bit quieter than the street level, which is nice because the traffic outside never seems to stop. We’ve been here for a good amount of time now. Mostly, we just spend our days sorting through items and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s a lot of manual work, honestly. We don’t have fancy machines or a big corporate office. It’s just a couple of rooms filled with our stuff. Sometimes the electricity acts up and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just life in this part of town. We know most of the shopkeepers around here. We grab tea from the stall downstairs twice a day. When people come in, we just talk to them normally. We don’t have a script or anything like that. We just show them what we have on the shelves. It’s a simple setup. We keep the windows shut mostly because of the dust from the road, but we try to keep the place tidy. It’s just a regular local business trying to keep things going day by day and hopefully finishing before it gets dark.
