Silver Hosiery

We've been at the Shreeram Complex for a while now. It's on the first floor, right across from where everyone goes to get their snacks at Pyarelal Kachoriwala. Honestly, the smell of that food gets to us every afternoon, but we stay busy with the boxes. We deal with hosiery, mostly socks and undergarments and things like that. Mandvi is a loud place, always people shouting or moving carts, but we like it here. My brother and I usually handle everything ourselves. We open up pretty early because the market starts moving before the sun is even fully up. It gets a bit crowded in the hallways sometimes, especially when new stock arrives and we have to haul it up the stairs. People know us as Silver Hosiery, though mostly they just look for the sign near the stairs. It’s not a fancy place. We have shelves all the way to the ceiling and sometimes it’s hard to find the exact ladder. We try to keep things organized but you know how it goes when five people want something at once. The fans are always on high speed because it gets stuffy inside. We just do our work, talk to the regulars who have been coming for years, and try to get home before the traffic gets too bad. It's a living. We don't have a big team or anything, just us making sure the inventory is right and the customers get what they need without a fuss.
