Shreeji Provision Stores

This shop is located inside the Sangita Shopping Centre in Vadodara. Being near the Akota Stadium means things can get pretty busy when there is a cricket match or an event going on nearby. We handle mostly provisions, which means we spend a lot of time weighing out grains and pulses for our regular customers who live in this part of the city. The shopping centre is an older building, so it has a certain feel to it that people around here are used to. We have stacks of heavy bags in the back and smaller packets on the shelves up front for easy picking. There is always the smell of raw spices and fresh flour in the air. We use an old set of scales that we trust for everything. People from all over the neighborhood come here because they know we have the basic things they need for their daily meals. We don't go in for any of that modern marketing or fancy packaging stuff. We just put the items out and tell people the price when they ask. The floor is tiled but some of them are cracked from years of moving heavy crates and bags around. We have a small radio that plays in the background, mostly just for the news or some old songs to keep us company. It is a steady rhythm of work every day. You get to know what people like and how much they usually buy. Sometimes we run out of things if the delivery truck is late, but we just make do until it arrives. It is just a regular shop.
