Shree Sundar Farzan Mart

We are located in Vadodara and we call our place Shree Sundar Farzan Mart. It is a shop filled with all kinds of dry snacks and farsan that people here love. We have rows of glass jars and plastic containers filled with things like sev, gathiya, and different types of mixtures. The air in the shop always smells a bit like oil and chickpea flour. We spend a lot of our time weighing out portions on the old digital scale and sealing up plastic bags. Vadodara can get really hot in the summer, so we usually have the big ceiling fans going full speed all day long. It’s a steady kind of business. People come in to get snacks for their tea time or if they have guests coming over. We don't really do anything fancy with the packaging; it’s just plain bags with a little tie. Some of the recipes we use have been around for a long time, and we just keep making them the same way every batch. We are not a massive factory, just a local mart where the floor is always a little bit crunchy from the snacks. We open up early to catch the morning shoppers and stay open until the streets get quiet at night. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, serving the neighborhood one bag at a time. The mart is part of our daily life in Vadodara, and we just keep on filling those jars and helping our neighbors find the snacks they want.
