Shree Kheteshwar Sweet & Farsan Centre

If you head down Kesar Ganj Road and look for number 7, you’ll find us at Shree Kheteshwar Sweet & Farsan Centre. It’s a busy spot in Vadodara, especially when the holidays come around or even just on a typical Sunday morning. We get here early to start the frying and the sugar work, so the place is usually warm by the time we open the shutters. The counters are made of glass and we try to keep them clean, but with all the sweets and farsan moving across them, there’s always a smudge or two somewhere. We’ve got different trays lined up with all sorts of things, and the smell is enough to make anyone hungry. It’s not a quiet job; there is always the sound of metal spoons hitting the pans or someone calling out an order from the front. We’ve been at this Kesar Ganj Road location for a long time, and the building itself shows its age a bit, but it’s sturdy. We don't use any fancy machines, just our hands and the big stoves in the back. Sometimes the heat gets to be a bit much, but we just drink some water and keep going. Customers come in, complain about the price of oil or sugar, and then leave with a big box of something sweet. It’s a good way to spend the day, seeing people leave a little happier than they came in to our shop.
