Shree Jagdish Farsan

Our place is Shree Jagdish Farsan, located in Karelibaug at Vinayaka Nagar 7. It is a pretty simple setup. We focus on getting the snacks ready by the time the morning crowd starts moving. There is always a lot of flour and oil around. We spend hours standing by the large pans, making sure the heat is just right for the frying. The shelves are usually full by midday with different types of salty snacks. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the name above the door. People in Karelibaug know where we are. The counter is wooden and has a few scratches from years of use. We use a small calculator to add up the prices. Sometimes we chat with the neighbors who stop by, but usually, it is just quick business. The back room is where we store the sacks of gram flour and spices. It can get a bit dusty back there. We try to keep everything organized, but when it gets busy, things can get a little messy. We clean up every night before closing the heavy metal shutters. The street outside Vinayaka Nagar is usually full of parked bikes. It is just a regular local shop. We don’t do any big advertising. People come in because they live nearby or they were passing by and smelled the frying. We just keep our heads down and keep the packets filled for whoever comes in.
