Shree Jagdish Farsan

You can find us at G 2 in the Karelibaug Pradhikaran area. We spend most of our mornings getting the snacks ready and frying up the batches for the day. It gets pretty hot in the back with the big vats of oil, but that is part of the job. We make farsan because that’s what we know how to do. There isn't much to say about us other than we work hard to keep the bins full. We stay away from fancy machines; a lot of it is still done by hand because that’s how we learned it. People from the neighborhood stop by on their way home to grab a bag of something salty or sweet. We know a lot of the families around here by now. Sometimes we run out of the popular items by the afternoon, and we just have to tell people to come back tomorrow. The shop is small and can get a bit crowded during the festival seasons. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us behind the counter and in the kitchen. We focus on the recipes we’ve been using for years. If the spices aren't right, we notice it immediately. We aren't trying to be a national chain. We just want to serve the local folks in Karelibaug. It’s simple work, and it keeps us on our feet all day long. We just keep our heads down and keep the oil hot.
