Shree Jagdish Chevda Mart

Shree Jagdish Chevda Mart has been sitting in Raopura for a long time. Raopura is one of those old parts of town where the streets are narrow and the buildings are packed together. Our shop is right in the middle of it all. The walls are thick and the ceiling is high, which helps keep the place a bit cooler in the summer. We spend a lot of time behind the old wooden counters. There’s always a line of people, especially in the mornings. We don’t use fancy digital registers; we still do a lot of things the old-fashioned way. The shelves are filled with jars and packets, and we know exactly where everything is, even if it looks a bit cluttered to someone else. You can hear the bikes and rickshaws zooming past the door all day long. Sometimes the monkeys from the nearby trees come down to the rooftops, and we have to keep an eye on our stock. It’s a lively neighborhood. We know the families who live upstairs and the other shopkeepers on the block. We’ve seen kids grow up and start coming in with their own children. We don't try to be modern or trendy. We just keep the shop open and the floors swept as best we can. It’s a busy life in Raopura, but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
