About Shiv Shakti Farsan – Food & Beverages in Vadodara
Running a farsan shop like Shiv Shakti is a lot of work. We are in the Madhvesh Complex, specifically Clover Chest 3. It's near Mother School, so we get a lot of noise when the kids are getting out for the day. The smell of frying oil is basically stuck in my clothes forever now. We start very early in the morning to get the snacks ready before the breakfast rush. The Asoj Arshi Enterprises part of the address can be confusing for some delivery drivers, but they usually find us eventually. Our counter is always covered in different types of sev, gathiya, and chips. It's a small space and it gets really cramped when there are more than four customers inside. We don't have any fancy seating, it's more of a grab-and-go kind of place. Sometimes the heat from the large frying vats makes the air thick, so we keep the back door open when we can. The floor can get a bit slippery if we aren't careful with the oil. We try to keep things clean, but it's a constant battle when you're making snacks all day. It's mostly regular people from the neighborhood who come in. They know what they want and we just weigh it out for them in plastic bags. It isn't a complicated business, just long hours and a lot of salt and spice. We just keep frying and packing until the bins are empty and the day is done.
