Shiv General Stores

The shop is right here on Reliefroad 12 in Karelibaug. It’s been here for a while now. Most mornings I start by sweeping the front step because the dust from the road gets everywhere. It’s a small place, Shiv General Stores, but we try to keep the shelves full of the things people actually need every day. You know how it is when you run out of something small like salt or a specific soap and don't want to drive to a big mall. That’s why we’re here. The afternoon sun hits the front window pretty hard, so it can get a bit warm inside around three o’clock. Sometimes the neighbors stop by just to say hello or ask about the weather. We have all sorts of containers stacked up and sometimes it’s hard to find exactly where I put the new stock. I usually remember eventually. Karelibaug is a busy area, lots of people walking by to the main junction. If you look for the number 12, you’ll find us easily enough. It’s nothing fancy, just a regular shop with wooden counters and some old fans. I’ve lived around here most of my life so I know most of the faces. It’s just me and sometimes my nephew helping out when school is closed. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the name written up there. It’s a quiet life mostly, just keeping things organized and making sure we don’t run out of the basics.
