You can find Shekhawat Fast Food & Sweets right on the corner of the Maneja Waghodia Dabhoi Ring Road. It’s a very busy intersection, so there is always dust and noise from the trucks, but people still stop their bikes for a quick bite. We make a lot of samosas and different kinds of sweets throughout the day. The large pans of oil are usually bubbling and hot by ten in the morning. It’s not a place where you sit down for a long dinner, mostly just stand by the counter and eat or take a packet home to the family. The sweets are kept in the glass counters at the front so you can see what is available. Sometimes the flies are a bother in the heat, so we keep the ceiling fans going as fast as they can. Our staff is mostly young guys who are quick with the frying and packing. We go through a lot of flour, oil, and sugar every single week. On weekends, the Ring Road gets really packed and we can barely keep up with the orders for fresh kachoris. We don't have a printed menu or anything, we just tell people what's fresh and ready to eat. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we haven't had the time to close the shop for a day to actually do it. It’s a basic, honest spot for hungry people on the move.
