Our shop, Shakti General Store, is tucked away near the Atmajyoti Ashram in Subhanpura. Even though the name says "Pvt," it really feels more like a family-run place where we know everyone’s name. We’ve been in Jalaram House for a while now. The area is usually peaceful because of the ashram, which we like. We stock things like grains, sugar, soaps, and those little household items that you don’t realize you need until they're gone. The shop is organized, but it’s packed. Every inch of wall space is used for something. We spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates and making sure everything is fresh. We get all kinds of people coming in—some living in the nearby flats and some visiting the ashram. I usually spend my time sitting near the entrance, greeting people and helping them find what they're looking for. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use flashlights, but that’s just part of life here. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything. We just try to keep the shop stocked with what people ask for. It’s a steady pace of work. We enjoy the conversations with the elders who come in for their daily supplies. It’s a good spot in Subhanpura, and we’re just here to keep things running for the local community. It's nothing fancy, just a store for the neighborhood.
