Rajlaxmi Store

You can find us at Shop No A/5 in the Arunachal Complex on the main road in Subhanpura, Vadodara. We are quite close to the Gorwa area. Being on the main road means there is never a quiet moment. There’s always the sound of scooters and cars rushing past. The store is tucked into the ground floor of the complex. It’s a pretty standard local shop with metal shelves and a wooden counter where I sit. I’ve been here for a few years now and I’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit, but the way we run the shop stays the same. I stock everything from cooking oil to cleaning supplies and snacks. It’s a lot to keep track of, and sometimes I forget to order something until a customer asks for it. The space is a bit tight, so I have to stack boxes wherever they fit. My neighbor from the next shop often comes over for a chat when things are slow. We don't have any bright neon signs or anything like that. People just know Rajlaxmi Store is here when they need something for their kitchen. The summers are tough because the shop gets very warm, but we have a small ceiling fan that does its best. It’s a simple life, just opening up every morning and seeing who comes in to buy their daily needs.
