About Radhashyam Farsan – Food & Beverages in Vadodara
Radhashyam Farsan is right in the middle of Dandia Bazar Padmavati, and it stays pretty loud around here. We spend most of our mornings getting the snacks ready for the day. There is always a lot of frying going on, so the smell of oil and spices is just part of the air now. People stop by on their way home from work to pick up bags of namkeen or whatever we’ve got fresh that day. It isn't a huge shop, so things can get a bit cramped when five or six people are all trying to pay at once. We use big metal containers to store everything and try to keep the glass counters clean, though fingerprints show up fast. My hands are usually a bit dusty from the flour and spices. Sometimes the traffic outside makes it hard to hear what customers are asking for, but we manage. We’ve been at this spot for a good while. The recipes haven't changed much because that's what people expect when they come to Dandia Bazar. If a batch of sev comes out a bit more spicy than usual, people notice right away. We don't have fancy packaging or anything, just plain bags and a scale that's seen better days. It's just a regular local shop where we work hard and hope the snacks taste right. It gets really busy during festivals, and we all end up staying late to keep the shelves full for the next morning.
